Dream Lover
By Midnight Dreamer

Chapter 13:
The weeks had drifted past since their last encounter. Bella felt empty not seeing him in her dreams, but her days were filled with work and preparations for her departure from her life with Edward. She got the job at the restaurant with Dina. They worked well together and the business was thriving. Dina’s Father was thrilled with the girls. They often were allowed to experiment and then the dish was put on the menu as a special for the week.
Bella put all her paychecks from the restaurant into her new bank account and only used the money from her interior job to pay the bills. Edward was none the wiser to what Bella was doing as he was never home during the day. She almost had enough money saved up to get her own place. Now she just had to find one.
It was an off handed Saturday that she met up with Alice and Rose at the restaurant. The three had decided to get together and look for an apartment for Bella.
“So what are we looking for exactly?” Alice asked.
“I would think a small one or two bedroom would work fine.” Bella said.
“Where are you looking?” Rose asked.
“I want to stay close to my other job at least until i get settled in. But I think i would like it closer to here, since this is now my better source of income.”
“That sounds perfect. Let’s see what they have listed in the classifieds.” Alice added.
Three bedroom apartment. Water and garbage included. NO pets. $500 a month.
One bedroom loft. All utilities included. $650.
Two bedroom half-double. Sewer and garbage included. No pets. $575 a month.
Two bedrooms, 1 ½ baths. Utilities included. $600 a month.
“Wait Alice what was that last one…”
Two bedrooms, 1 ½ baths. Utilities included. $600 a month.
“That would be perfect where is it located?”
“The address says it’s about three blocks from here.” Alice said.
“Can we go see it?”
“It says to call for appointment but I don’t see why we can’t.”
“Call them and see if they can meet us there in an hour.”
“Okay.”
“So Bella now that that is out of the way you wanna know about the car i have found for you?” Rose asked.
“Sure Rose.”
“It’s nothing outlandish but it will get you from point a to point b with no problem.”
“ Okay.”
“It’s a 96′ Subaru outback. It’s green and doesn’t really have any problems that I saw. I had to put a new radiator and thermostat in it but other than that she runs smooth. It’s all wheel drive so it will be good in the winter and it has seating for 5.”
“Oh Rose that is more than enough. It’s perfect. What do i owe you for it?”
“$400 and we’ll call it even.”
“I can have it to you by this afternoon.”
“Great.”
“Hey they said they can meet us. You want to head over there now?” Alice butted in.
“Yeah sure. It’s nice enough we can walk.”
“Then let’s go look at your soon to be new place.” Alice said bouncing in her seat.
The girls left the restaurant and started down the street toward the address in the paper. When they got to the place they all stood shocked. It wasn’t an apartment building like they were expecting. It looked like a small bungalow you would find at a beach. It was small compared to the building surrounding it. It was almost as if it was built first and the rest sprung up around it. An elderly woman sat outside on the porch. As the three girls approached it the woman looked up.
“I guess you are the ones who called about the place?”
“Yes Ma’am.”
“Well then let’s have a look shall we…” she motioned inside.
The girls followed her. The little porch was perfect. It had a small swing on it and several potted plants. When they entered it was like stepping into a fairytale. The floors were made of a light gray cobblestone. To the right of the entry way was a small living room. A large stone fireplace seemed to take up the one whole wall, making it the focal point in the room. As they continued on they entered a small dining room. The table big enough to seat 6. A small wrought-iron chandelier hung above the table. Next was a cozy kitchen. Most of the counter tops were marble and accented the cobblestone floors perfectly. The appliances were all stainless steel. Off to the side of the kitchen was the small half bath. It was accented in light blues and pale greens.
Bella was in love even though she hadn’t seen the upper floor, where the bedrooms and full bath were.
They followed the woman up a small stair case off to the side of the kitchen. There were small inset shelves on the walls going up the stairs. It looked like they once held small trinkets and knick-knacks. The hallway had beautiful hard wood floors in a light chestnut color. The walls all a pale yellow. The first door to the left was the master bedroom. The room was twice the size of the guest room at Edward’s house. A door opened to a walk-in closet. On the other side of the room was a door leading into the large full bathroom. The room was painted in earthly hues of browns, greens, and blues. A large claw foot bath sat opposite a walk-in shower. The vanity held two sinks and a large mirror that stretched the length of the wall. More wrought-iron sconces brought the light into the room. A door to the left was a small linen closet. The door on the other side was an exit to the hallway. They left the bathroom and headed to the room across the hall. This room was about the same size as the guest room Bella slept in now. It too had a walk-in closet.
When they got back into the hall Bella asked about the other door. The lady said that it was a closet to store extra blankets and things. Bella was in love. This house was everything she could have imagined her fairytale house would look like. She asked the lady about the details to the house. She was surprised to find that the asking price was actually higher then what the lady originally wanted to put it out as but her son insisted. The lady then began to tell them that it was a rent to own if she would like that option. Bella jumped on it immediately. There was no way she could pass up her dream house. The Lady and Bella sat down and talked out the details. When Bella told the lady of why she was looking for a house in the first place the lady gave Bella her sympathies. She knew all too well about a cheating husband and having herself disappear to please others. Bella knew then that she would be happy here. She signed the papers and wrote the woman a check right away. The woman said the place comes fully furnished as is; and that Bella could move in at any time.
Bella went back to Edward’s and began packing her things. She had no reason to stay here anymore. Rose and Alice stayed to help incase Edward came home early and found her alone. Which was a good thing cause Edward did come home early. He was pissed when he found out that Bella was leaving.
“Where the hell do you think you’re going?”
“I’m moving out. I have no reason to stay here anymore.”
“Are you moving in with that man you’ve been fucking? I have heard you scream his name.”
“It was all in my dreams Edward. I wished you would believe me, but now i don’t really care if you do or not.”
“Fine. Go. Run off and be his whore.”
“I’d rather be his whore then your wife.”
Bella slapped her hand to her mouth as soon as she finished that sentence. The look on Edward’s face was priceless. He stormed out of the room. The door no more then closed and the three girls broke down in giggles.
“Bella that was perfect.” Alice said.
“What in the hell was he talking about Bella? I didn’t know you were seeing anyone?” Rose said between giggles.
“She’s not…at least when she’s awake.” Alice told Rose.
“HUH?” Was Rose’s response. Her confused look caused Alice and Bella to start giggling again.
“Rose, Bella has a dream lover.”
“OH?”
“Yeah he makes her all hot and bothered and they have steamy sex in all kinds of places that would get them thrown in Jail if they were to do it in real life.”
“Sounds hot.” Rose said fanning herself.
“It is.” Bella said looking sad.
“What’s wrong Bella?”
“I haven’t seen him in weeks. I’ve been too busy in real life to just let go. My mind is constantly on something else so when I sleep I dream of work and escaping this hell hole. But now that I’m leaving I hope my thoughts will settle down enough that I get to see him again.”
“Bella you sound like you’re in love with your dreams?” Rose said.
“I am. Rose you have no Idea. He is so loving and caring. He makes me laugh and he takes care of me; in more ways than one obviously.” Bella sighed.
“What does he look like?” Rose asked.
“Yeah Bella you haven’t even told me.” Alice added.
“Okay…ok…He’s tall and tan. With blond hair that comes down to his chin. It has soft waves that make you just want to run your hands through it. He’s muscular…not football player or swimmer muscles but like I grew up on a farm working hard muscles. His skin is sun kissed and delicious. He smells of cut grass, leather, honeysuckles and sunshine. His eyes are the most captivating blue…and his drawl…god just thinking about it makes me hot.”
“Bella stay with us.” Alice giggled.
“He sounds delish. A southern Adonis.” Rose added.
“Yeah and the things he does to my body would make the gods weep.”
“Okay enough about him…you’re going to make me hot and bothered and my man is working.” Alice jumped in.
“So you and James are working then?” Bella asked.
“Yeah he’s so sweet.”
“I’m glad I married my hunk.” Rose said.
“You are one lucky girl Rose. You got your prince on the first try…I thought I had mine but he turned out to be a complete toad.” Bella giggled at the end.
“Well now is not the time to dwell. Let’s get this stuff in the car and get you into your new home.”
“Right on sister!” Alice cheered.
The girls carried the several boxes that contained all of Bella’s things. She didn’t own much cause all her money went to bills and groceries. Now though she could buy what she wanted once her rent was paid.
After Bella was all settled into her new home she took a long hot bath and settled into bed. She hoped that now she could once again see her dream man.
