She’s So Gone

Chapter 11:

It was almost lunch time and Jasper had yet to come across Izzy. He had classes with Alice, Edward and Emmett, but not Izzy. He wondered if Rose had had any classes with her? 

The lunch bell rang and he was making his way to the quad when he was joined by Alice and the guys.

“So have any of you had a class with Izzy yet?” Alice asked.

“No Alice I haven’t.” Jasper said.

“Me either” both Emmett and Edward said together.

“Wonder if Rose did?” Alice asked.

It was then that they looked around for Rose.

“Where is Rose? She should have found us by now?” Alice said.

“Hell she is probably in the bathroom powdering her nose…again.” Edward said.

“Don’t be such an ass Eddie.” Emmett said.

As they neared their usual table by the garden in the center they heard laughter. This caused them to move quicker. Who was sitting at their table? When they got in view they were stunned by what they saw. Rose was sitting there laughing with none other than Izzy. It was like she could feel their eyes watching that Izzy turned to look at them shocked. Rose followed her gaze.

“Oh hey guys. This is Izzy. We had all our morning classes together, and we hit it off pretty well, wouldn’t you agree Izzy?”

“Yeah sure Aphr…Rose.”

“Hey what was that?” Emmett asked.

“What was what?” Rose asked.

“She was gonna call you something else.”

Rose and Izzy looked at each other and broke into giggles again.

“What is so funny?” Alice asked stomping her foot.

Izzy saw this and pictured little bells on the tips of her shoes and a slight glow around her body. When she met Alice’s face and saw how tiny her features were she pictured Tinkerbelle again with the pixie dust and everything and broke out into more giggles. Rose looked at Izzy then at Alice and realized what set Izzy off and she herself started laughing again.

“Come on what is going on with you two?” Edward asked.

Rose went to say something but when she looked at Edward all she saw was green tights and a feather cap and lost it.

“Alright apparently we won’t be getting answers out of these two anytime soon. They must have inhaled some fairy dust or something and have completely lost their minds.” Emmett commented.

Izzy and Rose looked at him quickly and then to Alice and started laughing even harder.

“I don’t know about you guys but I’m hungry, so y’all can stand here and try to figure out what is goin on with these two, while I go grab some grub.” Jasper said.

At the sound of his voice Izzy and Rose stopped laughing. They looked at him and cocked their heads to the side. It only lasted a minute till Alice spoke again.

“Now what the hell? Jasper says two sentences and you all go quiet?”

Rose and Izzy’s eyes flashed to Alice and the giggling started all over again.

Jasper decided that now was the time to go get his lunch. He grabbed a sub from one of the vendors, paid and returned to the table. All but Rose and Izzy were still there. 

“Where’d the giggle duo go?”

“They said they’d be back they went to get French fries.” Emmett said.

“Did they tell you why they were laughing like loons when we got here?”

“No they didn’t in fact when we tried to get it out of them, one of them would start to answer then the other would whisper something and they would both start giggling again. It was disturbing to see Rose like that. She has never been that way before. She was always the ice queen except to Emmett.” Edward told Jasper.

“Well I for one am happy she has found someone to truly be her friend. And not just drag her around shopping and to nail salons and what not.” Emmett said looking pointedly at Alice.

“What? That’s what girlfriends do. We shop, get our nails done and talk gossip.” Alice defended herself.

“Did you ever think that maybe Rose wanted someone to talk to about important things and not just about who said what and who likes who?” Emmett started.

“Dude chill.” Edward got in-between them.

Jasper just sat back and ate his sandwich as the drama unfolded between his friends. He could hear the giggling duo returning and decided he wouldn’t stop this train wreck, but sit and observe how what seemed to be a new Rose handled the situation.

“What the hell is goin on here?” Rose asked.

The three in question stopped bickering and looked at her. Rose stood with her hands on her hips with Izzy watching over her shoulder.

“Nothing Rose.” Edward jumped in. 

“Oh nothing is going on? Then how come i could hear you three bickering halfway across the quad?”

“He started it.” Alice said pointing at Emmett.

“Emmett?” Rose asked.

She was still being rather level headed in Jasper’s opinion.

“Actually Rosie it was Alice. She was dissin on you and Izzy’s new found comradery and I told her I was happy you found someone who treats you like a real friend not a servent or underling.”

“Well thank you Emmett for sticking up for me, and as for you Alice; you can shove it. It’s none of your business who my friends are and if you acted more like one then perhaps I wouldn’t come off as such a bitch all the time. Come on Izzy, I don’t want to sit with them anymore.”

Rose took Izzy’s hand and lead her to the table we first saw Izzy at that morning. Jasper was pissed that the three stooges ruined his chance to meet the enchanting girl he saw playing in the music shop. He finished his lunch and started toward his next class. He was almost to the building when a hand clamped around his arm.

“Jasper I’m sorry I flipped out like that.” Rose said.

“It’s okay Rose I understand.”

“But you wanted to meet Izzy and I took that chance away from you by being a bitch.”

“You were protecting your friend. I can’t fault you for that. Now I will have plenty of time to get to know her. It is only the first day after all and it’s not over yet.”

“Thank you Jazz you always were the coolest of us all.”

“No bigs Rosie. Now get to class before you’re late.”

“Sure thing.”

Rose kissed Jasper cheek and ran off back toward Izzy. Jasper touched his cheek where Rose kissed him. Stunned she would do such a thing. Then he shook it off and started back toward class.
