Chapter 17:

Ty POV

“Aren’t you going to talk to me Ty?”

“Go to hell Garrett. She is still sleepin. Bella never takes naps like this. Not this often. You fucked her up.”

An hour away from Forks and then I could shut a door on this fucker. His special train dropped us off in Seattle but him and Roid Rage were with me on the drive to fucking Forks. Damn it was cold. I was sittin in the back while Bella was laid out with her head in my lap sound asleep. She said she was fine. I didn’t believe her.

“The doctor cleared her. I apologized for what happened but there was no damage. She is probably just tired. She has been through a lot and is pregnant. It can wear a person out.”

“Fuck you Garrett. Wait till I tell my Momma bout you putting your ET toys on her.”

“I would appreciate it, if we could keep that to ourselves. It is top secret and all…”

“Fuck you Garrett.”

Like I didn’t know this son of a bitch didn’t used to have a thing for my momma.

Okay I didn’t know till Bella pointed it out to me.

We pulled up to the Cullen Casa bout 45 minutes later. I saw a few cars up front and Momma and that Esme chick were waitin on us outside. Bella started to stir a bit.

“Hey boo. You up?”

“Yeah. We here?”

“Yes we are. It’s fucking cold.” I informed her in case she didn’t know.

I tried to help her out of the car but she brushed me off and started walking towards the front. Momma stopped her at the door.

“You doin alright girl?” Momma asked. Garrett opened his mouth but I interrupted.

“Garrett blew her brain up Momma. He stood there and let it happen.”

“You did what?!” Momma asked Garrett, not givin him that my hero look any longer.

“I’m fine Donna.” Bella whispered.

“Come on inside. Your dog is about to chew out of his cage.” Momma told her, arm on Bella’s shoulder and glaring at Captain America.

“She is still in her kennel?” Bella asked.

“I ain’t letting him out. Too many damn monsters running around already. No offense Esme. You cool.”

“None taken.” Esme replied.

“Where is Dad at?” I wondered.

“He is walkin in the woods or somethin. Esme got him some clothes. I swear you would think that he wanted to go back to prison. Keep askin what time chow is and where he can bunk down. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was carvin a shank in them woods.” Momma informed me. Guess they hadn’t done much talkin and reminiscing.

“Ty, take Bella’s bags. I got to talk to her about some things.”

That said Mom grabbed Bella by the arm and took her into the mansion, leavin me with Garrett and Esme. I was bout to bitch him out some more when that Pete dude and his fine ass woman came out of the trees real quick.

I didn’t jump back.

I wanted to but I didn’t. Freaky ass fast fuckers.

“Where is Jasper?” Charlotte asked.

“Jasper? He should be here.” Garrett told them. I was kinda surprised too.

“He told us he was staying back in Houston for a bit. Said he was going to look into some things and catch a ride with you guys. We figured he wanted to make sure you didn’t blow Bella’s brain up or something.” Peter told us.

“I didn’t blow her damn brain up!” Garrett shouted.

“Did so.” I replied. Peter apparently was more concerned with his boyfriend.

“He isn’t answering his phone. This is bad. We need to find him. I’m heading back to Houston.”

“Really? Our enemy is on its way here.” Garrett pointed out. “An enemy you said you wanted to fight. Now you want to leave and go find Jasper who could have simply decided he didn’t want to be here.”

“Jasper wouldn’t abandon Bella.” Peter pointed out to my annoyance.

“Maybe it finally sunk in that he wasn’t going to get her.” I suggested. It had to someday right?

“No. Jasper wouldn’t leave us.” Esme said quiet like, not succeeding in hiding the hero worship she got for Billy Bob.

“Let’s wait. He could be scouting Maria and making sure she follows us. Give it till tomorrow. We did travel here much faster than she would be able to. She also has to assume we are leading her into some sort of trap. She will be cautious.”

“Garrett that’s bullshit. He’s not answering his phone.” Peter said.

“Then leave.” Garrett told him simply. Peter stood there looking at Charlotte.

“We will give it till tomorrow Peter.” she told him.

Peter nodded and the two disappeared back in the woods.

“I need to speak to Connolly. Where is he?” Garrett asked Esme.

“He went to La Push to talk to Sam Uley.”

“No! I told him not to. I wanted to be present.”

“They would attack you Garrett.” Esme reminded him.

“Not with the team there. That was the plan. Where is the team?”

“Dante and John are with him. The rest are setting up alarms and things that look alarmingly like landmines around the immediate area.” Esme explained. “Apparently Toby and Domingo or Ding? Yes Ding have returned from Florida. Renee and Phil are safely away on their Virgin Island vacation they won from a contest they don’t remember entering.”

“This is a disaster. I have to get to La Push.”

“Why? Seems to be they would be able to relate to Connolly better than you, seein as he’s not a vampire and all.” I mentioned.

“That’s because you don’t know Connolly.”

Connolly POV

Damn.

I mean damn.

She finally rolled her incredible body off on me and I peeked down past my chest to my pelvis and made sure my dick was still intact. If it wasn’t, it went out a hero and died a good death. The rest of me wouldn’t be far behind.

Gazing at her body I was impressed with her abs. They were as cut as mine. A light sheen of sweat covered her body making it glisten. Those breasts rising and falling gently with each breath. This woman was amazing. I needed to say something romantic.

“Holy shit girl. I’ve been fucked on every continent on this planet and that was the best I ever had.”

That should do it.

“You weren’t have bad yourself.” She breathed rolling over. “We… uh… we need to talk.”

Oh God.

“If you are going to tell me you are married or not on birth control please tell me you are married.” I begged.

“What? No… I… who are you?”

“Oh yeah. Name’s Jason. Jason Connolly. You?”

“Leah.”

“Leah I would love to have another go but I need to go have a discussion with the owner of this residence. I’m gonna be in the area for a few weeks though. Maybe we could hook up again. But business first darlin.”

I sat up and the bitch growled. Damn near made me jump.

“Who hurt you!?” she nearly screamed. I turned and saw she was pissed. She threw me back onto the bed and with her fingers began tracing… my scars?

“Uh if you are talking about the scars on me darlin that’s a bunch of classified or complicated stories. A few Russians, a Chinese prison guard, couple Iranians, one very nasty Iraqi lady, a guy I am pretty sure was a ninja, a Bosnian grenade fragment and a biker chick who called herself Stiletto. I don’t think it was her Christian name.”

I picked my ass back up and grabbed my pants.

“Why do you have a gun strapped to your leg?”

“Health Insurance. Everyone should have some.” I told her, zipping up. Where the hell…

“You seen my shirt?”

“Yeah here.” She tossed my shirt and I was glad to see it was in somewhat of one piece. Only a small rip on the shoulder.

My boots slipped on pretty quickly and I got out of there before she threw me back on the bed.

I saw Uley was sitting in a recliner and Dante was across from him on the couch with the window to his back. Dante shot me a look. Fuck it. I’m the commanding officer.

“Sorry for the delay gentleman. Dante how is everything going?”

“Going well sir. Just making small talk with Mr. Uley while you were busy. He wanted to interrupt but I convinced him it probably wasn’t for the best.”

Getting closer I saw Dante had a gun trained on Uley.

“I think we can put that away Dante. Sam should know we come in peace.”

“Peace! You walk in and take my… you take my wife’s cousin into my bed room while your boy here holds a gun on me!”

“Who you callin boy bitch?” Dante asked. It was a fair question.

“Shut up Sam. I took him harder than he took me. Not that he wasn’t amazing. I haven’t been fucked like that… ever. In my entire life Sam. By anybody.” Leah told him, walking in the living room and sitting right next to me. Glaring at Uley.

“So how do you two know each other?” I asked.

“Sir perhaps we can get to the point.” Dante suggested. Oh yeah.

“You are correct Dante. Leah perhaps if you could go for a bit, me and Sam here have business to discuss.”

“What kind of business?” Uley asked.

“Pack business.” I told him.

That shut him up.

“Then I am definitely staying. I’m a member of the Pack. Aren’t I Sam?”

“Oh, okay then… wait. You’re a shifter?!”

Oh shit.

Dante was laughing.

“Shut it Dante.”

“Hell no sir.”

“Who are you!?” Uley yelled.

It was time to get some order here.

“My name is Jason Connolly. I work for the President of the United States. We know about your Pack. We know about vampires. I am here to let you know one thing, a vampire war is coming to this area and…”

“You want my Pack’s help right?” Uley asked smugly.

“No, I want you to stay out of it, no matter what. Protect your reservation but that is it. Also I have four vampires working with me and I can’t have you distracting them.”

“Five.” Dante mentioned.

“What?”

“Five sir.”

“Five? Where did we pick up another one?”

“We didn’t. Garrett, Jasper, Peter, his blonde girl, Charlotte and Esme.”

“Okay five.”

“Esme Cullen?” Sam asked.

“Sam you are on a need to know basis. Yes Esme, but that is all you need to know. We will be setting up shop at her residence. Stay the hell away.”

“Or what?” Uley asked, standing up.

I pointed my index finger and thumb at Uley.

“Sit down or I will have to shoot.”

“You are pointing a finger gun at me?” Sam asked in disbelief.

“Yep.”

“That supposed to scare me?”

“My finger gun has a laser scope attached. Check your chest if you don’t believe me.”

His eyes drifted down and took in the red dot on his chest.

“Okay, you got me. My finger doesn’t really fire bullets. But the rifle my guy in the tree outside has zeroed in on you fires very real bullets. So sit the fuck down now.”

Uley sat back down.

“Now…”

“If there are vampires here I have to keep you safe. You can’t be around them. They are dangerous.”

I turned to Leah who actually looked worried.

“I can handle vampires. You are really a shifter?”

“Yes I am. And I will protect you.” She told me.

“You plan to protect him from vampires?” Dante asked, managing to stop his laughter. Mostly.

“Yes. He is my imprint.”

“Holy shit you imprinted on him?!” Dante asked loudly. Then he started laughing again.

“What the fuck is an imprint?” I started checking my arms and shit. Sounded like some tattoo or brand.

“Just an old legend around some Native American tribes sir. Nothing to worry about I’m sure.” Dante snickered.

“We need to talk…” Leah started.

“No time darlin. Look Uley. Keep your Pack out of this.”

“Why are vampires coming here?”

“It doesn’t matter…”

“I have a right to know!”

“Look it’s a long story and involves Mexican vampire warlords and NBA players and…”

“Let me guess. Bella Swan?” Leah asked. That was a surprise.

“Yeah how did you know? You know her?”

“She is my step sister. You are protecting her aren’t you?

“Yeah… why…”

“I swear that girl must have a magic pussy. Every guy she meets wants to give their lives for her.” Leah said dryly.

“I don’t plan on dying actually…” I tried.

“Based on the video I saw, she does have a pretty magical…”

“Dante! Not the time.”

“Wait, Bella made a sex tape?” Sam asked, mind off the vampires quick like.

“Sam’s always had a hard on for that girl too. Seems like every guy in the pack wants to be her hero.” Leah offered.

“Yeah. Girl got some skills…” Dante added.

“Dante! Off point!”

She did have some skills. I’ve never seen a white girl move her hips like that.

“How the hell do you guys plan to fight a vampire war? Humans can’t kill vampires. You have five Cullens with you? You think that is enough of you considering you are expecting a war?”

“I only have one Cullen with me. The others… look just stay out of it. You don’t want to know. I’m trying to be nice here…”

“You barged in my house and fucked my ex fiancé on my bed!”

“Well… wait, you used to be engaged to him?” I asked Leah. She nodded her head and then smirked at Uley.

“Dude if I knew that I swear I would have taken her to the bathroom or a guest room. My bad okay? Now I really have to go…”

“You are an imprint. My pack must protect you now.” Uley said quietly.

“What the fuck is an imprint?! Dante tell me now! That’s a damn order!”

“Now you are all about orders?”

“Dante? Please?”

“I will explain it to you if you would take a walk with me.” Leah offered, placing her hand on my thigh…

“No. I know how that walk is going to end. Give me the Cliff’s Note’s version without the naked biting. Not that I didn’t really like the naked biting.”

Sam Uley cleared his throat and then he told me.

Oh shit.

Dante kept holding back giggles like a little bitch.

“Ok. Uh… so you and me?”

“Yep.” Leah replied.

Okay. Relax. You have been in worse situations.

“Soul mates?”

“Yep.”

Alright. I’m not really good with commitment. Wait a minute…

“And you have to protect me from vampires?”

“Yep.”

As if.

“How many vampires have you actually killed Leah?”

“A few.” She said quietly.

“A few?”

“How many did Bella say we killed? She told you our secret right?” Sam asked a bit pissed off.

“No actually. We have known about you for a while. Our agency keeps up with the supernatural world. You aren’t as secret as you believe.”

Neither had anything to say to that.

“Okay look. This whole imprint thing… we can talk later Leah. I don’t need protection. I’ve killed more than a few vampires myself. My team… this is what we do.”

“How do you think a weak little human like yourself can kill a vampire? Does the government have a secret weapon? A satellite death ray or something?” Uley asked.

“Okay, first, fuck you Sam. I’ve killed more vampires than your big strong ass has. Second I have to go. I need to meet Charlie Swan and let him know what’s going on since some real strange things are gonna start happenin in Forks.”

“Great! I’ll go with you! I can introduce you to my Mom!” Leah piped up.

Mom.

Bella POV

“You okay girl?” Donna asked while I tried not to fall back from Feather tackling me.

“Yeah Donna. Ty was just worried.”

“So what kind of stuff did you see there?” she asked.

“You don’t want to know.” I told her honestly.

“Did you see aliens?”

“Donna you don’t want to know.”

“Tell me they are cute Bella?”

I didn’t have the heart to lie to her. I just shook my head.

“Ahh fuck.”

“Yep.” I agreed. “Where is Ty’s dad? Really?”

“Out back like I said. We ain’t talked much. I haven’t spoken to him since Ty got old enough to visit by himself. I don’t know what the hell to say Bella. Why the hell did they let him out? I don’t think he even wants to be out.”

“He has been in prison for a long time Donna. His life was built around a routine. A set of behaviors and rules he had to internalize to survive in that place. He won’t be able to snap out of it that quickly.” I explained.

“It ain’t my damn job to do it for him Bella!”

I stepped back and threw up my hands.

“I didn’t say it was. I will. Ty and I…”

“It isn’t your problem either Bella. You two got enough going on.”

“I don’t mind Donna. I just don’t want you worrying about it. You have gone through enough because of…”

“Don’t you say it. Don’t put this on yourself. It’s life. We will get through it. We are family. We will get through this. I think ya’lls bags are in the room at the top of the stairs to the left. Third one down.”

I took a deep breath. Of course it is. Edward’s room.

Ty caught up with me on the way up the stairs and followed me into our room. I started unpacking the boxes, ignoring the wall of music and the memories of the last time I was in this place. I prayed I didn’t find any underwear he may have stolen from my room while I slept.

“Wonder whose room this was?” Ty asked.

“Edward’s.”

“Oh. Why did he have a bed in here?”

“After he came back he was way too optimistic?” I guessed.

“You feelin all right?” he asked for the hundredth time.

“Yep. Stop asking already.” I actually wasn’t but he didn’t need to worry about that. I felt tired, annoyed, nauseous, sore. My breasts were sore and I was emotionally and physically exhausted. Plus I was pretty sure Garrett blew up my brain.

“Okay doll my bad. Hey which one of these boxes you think my Black Nike hoodie is in? The one with the big red swoosh?”

“Jesus Ty, I cook for you, clean your house, pick up your dry cleaning, fuck you, carry your babies and negotiate your contracts! Can’t you find a fucking shirt yourself?”

Whoa.

Okay take a deep breath.

“Baby I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gone off like that.”

“It’s cool doll. I know you been stressed. You’re right. Why don’t you relax and I will take care of unpacking. Take Feather outside or something.”

“Okay.” I whispered.

I couldn’t ignore the hurt look on his face. I was just so wired. So on edge. Feather followed me downstairs and I saw Garrett talking to Donna. Donna stopped me.

“Bella! Garrett says we need to let your Daddy know everything that going on. He wants us to go over there and explain it to him.”

“Hell no!” I yelled, causing Feather to growl.

“Bella everybody knows but him. He can keep a secret.” Garrett offered.

“Renee doesn’t know.”

“She can’t keep a secret.” Donna and Garrett said at the same time.

I suppose they had a point.

“Look that is a long conversation that I don’t feel up to right now, okay?” I tried to move off when Donna said it.

“Bella we need to go anyway. I need to meet him and maybe you can catch your step sister if she is there about being a bridesmaid.”

Garrett blew my damn brain up. That must be it.

“Donna did you just say my step sister would be a bridesmaid?”

“Yes, her and this Emily woman Renee said you were friends with.”

“I don’t like Leah. She doesn’t like me. Why the hell would I want to have her as a bridesmaid?”

“Who else you got? Ty’s cousins that went dress shoppin with us agreed to be maids. But you got nobody from college. You don’t seem to have any friends…”

“I have friends!”

“Then why can’t you give me names of bridesmaids?” Donna asked.

“Because I don’t want anybody standing at my side who Ty has slept with and your baby boy did a lot of thinking before we got together. He thought all over the damn campus!”

“So? Speakin of all over the campus, Ty is having Dan standing with him. I heard you and Dan thought quite a bit over the campus yourselves, your freshman year.”

“Ty is what?! Wait! How the hell do you know about Dan?”

“Ty told me after his freshman year about distracting a guard at the Planetarium while you escaped out the back, leaving your panties on one of the telescopes.”

“That son of a… damn it! Dan? Really?”

“I’m just sayin if you can’t give me any college friends I got to go with family. So let’s go talk to your step mom and see if this Leah girl is available.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No!”

Donna glared but backed down.

“I would still like to meet your father Bella. And Garrett is right. Charlie does need to know but that will be up to you.”

My shoulders dropped and I realized how damn tired I was.

“I’m going to take Feather for a walk and then we can go meet Charlie.” I offered. Donna hugged me and I walked outside with Feather at my side.

Walking towards the river I saw Ty’s dad sitting on a stump watching the river roll by. I thought of saying hi but he seemed deep in thought. Instead I headed deeper into the woods.

Feather ran ahead and began scouting trees to mark.

“Hi Bella.”

Speaking of trees to mark.

“What do you want Jake? You shouldn’t be here.”

“Really? Judging by all the vampires and what look to be soldiers of some sort, and considering this is the Cullen mansion, I would say you shouldn’t be here.”

I turned and took him in. Of course he was only in cut offs and grinning at me like he knew a secret that I didn’t.

“I’ll say it again. You shouldn’t be here. You don’t want to be here.”

“I want to be where you are. I don’t care that you made a mistake with that guy. I love you.”

Control your anger Bella.

“Jake I have had two people annoy the hell out of me because they loved me since I moved to Forks. You and Edward Cullen. Cullen is dead. You want to join him?”

“Cullen is dead?”

“Yep. Now take a hint.”

I turned to walk away when I felt his hot, sweaty hand on my shoulder.

“Stop walking away from me!”

“That was a mistake Jake.” I twisted away just in time for Feather to attach her rather large jaws onto Jake’s testicles.

He fell to the ground crying out in pain. Feather began trying to tear his nuts off.

Feather can be a bit protective. Still she could get hurt.

“Feather back….”

Jake threw my dog against a tree. She yelped. I ran over to her and checked her back. I couldn’t feel a fracture.

I glared at Jake.

“I’m going to kill that fucking dog!” he screamed holding his bloody crotch.

That asshole touched me without permission and hurt my dog.

My mind blew up.

And it felt wonderful.

Powerful.

Deadly.

“Pain.” I found myself whispering.

Jacob hit the ground screaming and grabbed his head. I wasn’t sure how I was doing it but I knew I was. I knew I was causing him pain and it made me feel a savage joy I had never known.

“You touched my baby!? You are dead Jacob Black. I have told you for years I wasn’t interested and you tried to make me talk to you? Make me?! I’m going to make you suffer until you beg me to kill you!”

I approached him slowly and enjoyed the increase in his screams.

Until I felt arms lifting me off the ground.

Ty.

“Bella calm down honey. Come back to me. Just calm down.”

I felt his emotions. I could feel them as if they were made of solid matter. No. More like water. He was anything but calm.

Ty was scared.

Not of Jake.

Oh my God he was scared of me.

The thought snapped me out of my haze and my vision cleared, no longer focused on making Jake’s head explode.

I looked around and saw I was surrounded by the guys on Connolly’s team. They all had their weapons drawn on Jake. Esme grabbed him by his neck and lifted him off the ground. Jake didn’t resist. He looked half dead.

“How in the hell did he get past the perimeter?!” Garrett yelled.

“The perimeter hasn’t been set.” One of the guys said.

“Get it set.” Garrett commanded.

“You are on my land. It is time for you to leave.” Esme hissed at Jake. She threw him by his throat and I no longer saw him. I believe I heard him land far off through some trees.

“Bella you okay?” Ty asked. I couldn’t feel his emotions any longer. The feeling of being swept up in a wave was gone.

“Yeah.” I told him. It was true. I felt, tired but… great.

“Bella what happened just now?” Garrett asked.

“Feather bit him in the balls. Is she okay?” I asked looking for her. She was by Ty’s side and started rubbing against my leg.

“That was what caused him to scream like that? Because it seemed like…”

“Would you like her to bite one of your guys’ balls and see how they scream? Maybe we could compare screams?”

“No. That won’t be necessary. It just seemed like you were…”

“What Garrett? What did you do to her?” Ty asked.

“Nothing!”

“Exactly. Let’s go.” I said, wanting to forget what just happened.

“Go where doll?”

“To see Daddy. Donna wants to meet him.”

An hour later, Donna, Garrett, and I were being driven by Ty to Dad’s. Feather was okay. If she wasn’t I would be traveling to La Push instead.

Garrett informed us that Connolly was there but had not told Charlie anything. I can’t imagine what he was doing there or why he didn’t wait for us.

We pulled up and parked. Ty was around before I could open the door, grabbing me like I couldn’t walk. I actually felt great. I had a feeling it wouldn’t last. I really didn’t want to have to explain this mess to Charlie.

Connolly walked to the front and headed to Garrett.

“We need to talk before you go in there Garrett. Maybe it would be better if Esme came inside instead of you. Where is she?” Connolly looked panicked. That set us all on edge.

“Don’t be ridiculous…” Garrett started until Leah came outside.

“He has red eyes Jason! Stay away from him!”

Leah phased and moved towards Garrett. Ty carried me over his shoulder to the front porch while a vampire and wolf were locked in battle in broad daylight in front of my Dad’s house.

Dad was next to me holding a gun but not seeming to know where to point it.

“What the hell is going on?” Dad yelled. Sue walked out next to him, looking very concerned.

I kept my cool though.

“Looks like Sue has been keeping some pretty big secrets from you Dad. I’ll leave so you two can work this out.”
