Chapter 36:The past come backs to bite you in the ass.

Isabella had left work with a smile on her face. She was till glowing when she knocked on Charlotte’s door, and blushed cherry red when Peter called her on it.

“What did you do to my brother?”

“I didn’t do nothing. He grabbed me and tried to have his way with me in an empty cell.”

“Why do I not believe you?”

“What” Isabella said innocently.

“Char..Bella won’t spill the juicy details on what she was doin to Jasper behind those steel bars.”

“Peter leave her alone. She is here to help me with the case against Edward now scat.” Charlotte told him as she entered the room loaded down with files and printouts.

“I take it you found what we needed without any of my help?”

“Yes. A few simple phone calls and emails and I had all the information I needed on one Edward Anthony Mason, and his wife Katerina Renese Danali.”

“Katie?”

“Do you know her?”

“I’m afraid so. I met her my first year in college. She was a retched thing back then too so it doesn’t really surprise me that she hasn’t changed and became worse.”

“I see. Well let’s get to work shall we. I would like to get Jasper out of your humble abode before he goes stir crazy.”

“I think I gave him something to keep his mind occupied for the time being.” Isabella snickered.

“I’m not even gonna ask.”

“That’s fine cause I didn’t plan on tellin.”

Isabella and Charlotte set off to work. Each taking half the pile and sorting through the information they had. Both women armed with multiple colored highlighters, pens and notepads. Edward Masen was gonna wish he never set foot in Dallas, let alone the state of Texas.

Hours had passed and the women were finally done with the finer points, now all they had to do was contact the complainants and get statements from them. Then put together the case and take it to court. It sounded easy but it was harder then you would think.

Walking out of the room they were locked in they decided to grab something to eat. They found Peter in the kitchen cooking.

“Okay who are you? And what have you done with my husband?”

“Ya husband is standing right here and ya ladies were so busy with tryin to bring Jasper home I thought I would take some of the extra work of ya hands.”

Charlotte walked over and kissed him. Isabella followed closely behind and kissed Peter on the cheek thankin him. Peter turned several shades of red as the girls chuckled.

“Alright enough of embarrassing me, sit down dinner is done.”

They sat around talking about what they have done and what has to be done yet. Peter said he would help them make calls if they wanted. The sooner this got done; the sooner Jasper came home. After everything was cleaned up the three set to work calling all of those who were swindled by Edward and his wife. It took four hours to make all the calls and set up appointments with them individually. Some had to travel from other states to come see them. It would all be worth it in the end. They assured them that they would all be re-reimbursed for their travel expenses. It was almost midnight when the last phone call was complete. They looked around at each other with smiles on their faces.

“So once this is all done and we get back the money they stole from all those people what are we gonna do?” Charlotte.

“Well the settlement will be well over the amount of what was originally taken. So after everyone gets back what they lost and are re-reimbursed for their travel expenses; I think we should set the rest up in a college fund for Edward’s kids. He may be an ass and his wife a bitch but the kids deserve a good education. We can’t condemn them for the acts of their parents. It’s bad enough that they will be put into the foster care system while Edward and Katie are in prison for fraud and multiple other charges.” Isabella told them.

“That sounds like a great plan…so now Bella ya wanna spill what ya did to my brother while ya had him imprisoned that had ya smilin like that and turnin cherry red when I asked earlier?” Peter asked.

“Peter! You are insatiable you know that right?” Isabella laughed.

“Yep that’s what wifey says all the time but for different reasons.” Peter wiggled his eyebrows.

They all started laughing.

“Fine. I handcuffed him to the bed. Then teased the shit out of him and left him there.” Isabella grinned evily.

“When you say teased?” Charlotte asked.

“That’s all you get. I’m not sayin anything else. I will let you take that as you may.” Isabella said giggling.

“Okay then. I think it’s time we all go to bed, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow as there will be a few of Charlotte’s new clients arriving early.” Peter said.

“Sounds good to me.” Isabella said.

“You takin the guest room Bella?” Peter asked.

“Of course. I wanna be here for all the information too. I don’t have any work at the prison and Emmett is more then capable of keepin them occupied. All my calls are forwarded to my cell anyway.” Isabella said.

“Alrighty then I say goodnight all and I will see ya in the morning.” Charlotte said grabbing Peter and heading toward their bedroom.

Isabella chuckled as she headed to her room. Knowing exactly how good a night Charlotte was planning on having. As she laid down on the bed she replayed her afternoon with Jasper.

Edward felt as if all his plans were coming to fruition. Alice had been scarce since her blow up at the hospital but he didn’t think of her as a complication. She was alienated from her family and Jasper wanted nothing to do with her, so no one would believe her claims anyway.

He was sitting in the lounge when his wife came in.

“Edward darling, do you think that girl will say anything?” Kate asked with a worried expression on her face.

“No dear, and even if she did no one would believe her. Everyone she knows has sided with her ex-husband.”

“Why did you have to sleep with her Edward? I know that is how we usually work these things but she seems different then the others.”

“She was weak and vulnerable. It made her an easy target. That and she had unlimited access to the Whitlock fortune at the time. I had to make her believe I cared for her.” he said as he pulled his wife onto his lap.

“That still doesn’t explain why you had to? She seems to have real feelings for you, and you seem attached to her. You don’t have feelings for her do you?”

“I do not have feelings for her at all. She is a means to an end and that is all. I love you more then life itself.”

“This just feels different this time. I have a bad feeling Edward and I don’t like it.”

“Everything will be fine Kate. I always take care of you and the kids don’t I?”

“Yes.”

“Then there is nothing to worry about. I will continue to do what I always do and we will be on our way to the next place in a few weeks.”

“If your sure.” Kate said still feeling uneasy.

“I’m positive.”
