How To Tell Your Imprint That She’s Your Imprint

By Mama4Dukes

Chapter 01:

Jared’s POV

Oh man, what the hell am I going to do? I have to tell her. I really do. But how?

Oh, hey, how are you? Do you remember me? I’m Jared Cameron. I met you behind Jake’s house last month when you slapped Paul across the face, and he morphed into a giant wolf and tried to eat you.” No, that’s too civil, not to mention the fact that it might bring back bad memories.

Hey, babe, come here. I need to tell you something. Why don’t you lay a big fat one on my lips while you’re at it?” Nuh-uh. Too guido.

Do you have a kiss for daddy?” Too creepy.

Hello, Isabella. I’d like to tell you about imprinting. Imprinting happens when a wolf looks into the eyes of a female that he…” Way too clinical. That won’t work. Sheesh. I even scared myself with that one.

Hi, I’m Jared. I’ve been assigned by the spirit gods to be yours forever.” Of course, she’ll think I’m deranged.

I could always go with Paul’s suggestion, “She’s your goddamned imprint, Jared. Drag her to the woods, fuck her, and then bite her. It’s as simple as that.” But I’d better not; I don’t want to risk imprisonment. Her dad is a cop, for God’s sake.

Maybe I should do what Jacob told me to do when he found out I had imprinted on her? “Stay the hell away from her. She’s mine!” Heck no! Baby Alpha is nuts if he thinks I’m giving up my imprint.

I could always take Sam’s advice. “Bring her over to Emily and have her explain everything to her. A woman’s touch is exactly what she needs.” But, no, that’s the coward’s way out. Besides, what if my imprint is brainwashed into becoming a Betty Crocker Wannabe like Emily.

Of course, I could go with Embry’s method. “You should follow her around incognito; that way, you can get to know her habits, schedule, likes, dislikes, and friends. Maybe you can even sneak into her room and watch her as she sleeps at night.” Wait a sec… That sounds a bit stalker-like to me.

Great, I’m fresh out of ideas. I have no idea how to tell Bella that she is my imprint.

The school day finally ended, and I walked towards Billy Black’s house with Paul and Jacob on my heels. Embry went back to his own house. He was grounded again. We had to finish our homework before our patrol started at four pm. Sam was strict about that. He had given up a football scholarship to protect La Push and, over his dead body, were we going to drop out of high school just because we phased.

Paul and I were seniors at the tribal school. We were a few months away from graduation and were pretty psyched. Unfortunately, Jacob and Embry still had another year to go.

“Man, I can’t believe that we have to read this pussy book for English class!” Paul spat, picking up his copy of Pride and Prejudice.

“It’s not that bad,” I noted, turning the page. We were only on the second chapter. Well, I enjoyed reading, though. I liked books of all kinds.

“That’s Bella’s favorite novel. I remember her telling me that,” Jacob mused. I didn’t think he meant to say it out loud, but I took this information and stored it for later use. So, my imprint’s favorite book is Pride and Prejudice? Well, then, I’ll have to really get into this book.

“Why? What’s wrong with her? They talk funny in this book,” Paul noted.

“I have no idea.” Jacob was scratching his head. “I’m just glad I don’t have to read it until next year.”

On the other hand, I was fully concentrating on the words because if it was her favorite book, it would soon become mine.

We finished reading our required two chapters and then wrote a quick synopsis. After that, we worked on our chemistry, math, and Spanish homework.

“Boys, your spaghetti is ready,” Billy called from the kitchen. “I just need one of you to drain the noodles for me.”

“Sure, Billy,” I said and stood up to do it. I was done with my homework anyway.

“Jared, have you told Bella about the imprint yet?” he asked.

“Not yet. I don’t quite know how to.”

“What do you mean you don’t know how to? Just tell her. Bella is a pretty understanding girl, and she’s sharp, just like her father. I’m sure she’d understand if you just tell her.”

“She doesn’t know me, Billy. I met her once behind your house and imprinted on her. How the heck am I supposed to explain that?”

“You’ll figure it out,” he said as we brought the spaghetti to the table. “If it couldn’t be Jacob that imprinted on her, I’m glad it was with you. Imagine if it was Paul. I feel bad for the poor father who has to put up with him.”

“Hey, Billy, I’m not that bad,” Paul protested.

Billy simply arched an eyebrow at him in response.

Just then, there was a tap on the door. Jacob went to answer it. The fat, mousy girl from our class was standing there. We didn’t know her name.

“Who is it, Jacob?” Billy asked.

“No idea,” Jacob said. “I’m sorry, who are you?”

The girl looked up into Jacob’s eyes and said, “I… I’m Kim Akalat… I go to your school. I’m a senior, you’re a junior… y… y… you dropped your math worksheet…”

Jacob couldn’t stop looking at her. He was transfixed by her. It was as if she were the most beautiful woman in the world to him. It was clear that he had imprinted on her.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but thank God you imprinted on Bella Swan,” Paul whispered.

“No kidding,” I agreed.

“Do you want to come in? We’re about to have some spaghetti,” Jacob gushed.

She peered inside at Paul and me and became frightened. “N… no… it’s…”

“Please?” Jake begged softly. And with that one word, the girl was putty in his hands. Then, he turned around and whispered to us to be nice.

Well, hell, we’ve never exactly been mean to her. We just never really noticed the girl.

We all sat down to have our spaghetti. Billy called Sam, and the imprinting was explained immediately to Kim. She accepted it right away, and she and Jake stared goo-goo-eyed at each other the entire time. I wonder if he still wants me to stay away from Bella?

A few minutes later, Paul and I left to go on patrol. “Poor Jake,” Paul said. “I bet his kids turn out to be porkers.”

“Paul, that’s mean. You don’t know the chick.”

“Jared, she ate as much as we did. And she doesn’t burn it off like we do. That shit stays on her.”

I rolled my eyes at Paul’s insensitivity. “Come on, we’d better start patrolling.”

We started our patrol in human form by walking around Forks. Finally, we arrived at the diner. Bella Swan was walking out of there with some of her friends.

So, are we on for Friday night?” a blonde chick asked her.

Yeah, but I’m gonna have to tell my dad I’m sleeping over at your house. He’ll never let me go to the Makah Reservation for a party.”

So, we lie and say we’re sleeping over at Lauren’s house,” another chick said.

Yep, let’s do this. Those Makah guys are H-O-T hot! They put fucking Cullen to shame. Anyway, this party is epic so bring your sleeping bags. Jess is bringing the tent. I’ll bring the condoms.”

“Can’t wait,” Bella chuckled.

“Fucking hell, Jared, you’d better get a move on telling your imprint about the imprint because that party is decadent.”

“That’s the party we went to last year, right?”

“Yep, it’s the one held on Hobuck Beach. And I’m telling you now that the sweet virgin scent that your imprint has now will change by the time the party is over.”

“Fuck! Who the hell is the blonde chick that’s a bad influence on my imprint anyway? Why the hell is she bringing condoms?”

“That’s Lauren Mallory. You lost your virginity to her last year.”

“I did?”

“Yeah, don’t you remember her?”

“Not really. I was on a mission to get laid. I didn’t care what her name was. She was willing was all that mattered. Anyway, I only remember getting lost in her abyss.”

“Geez, Jared!”

Suddenly we heard howling coming from the forest.

“What the hell? That howl doesn’t sound familiar,” Paul noted.

“Damn, we’d better check it out.”

Paul and I ran to the forest and immediately phased. Then, we started running in wolf form toward the continuous howling.

I smell leech!” Paul spat in my brain.

I sniffed the air around me, and the same acrid scent hit me. “It’s coming from the direction of the howl.”

The two of us started running at top speed.

Hey, do either of you have a mirror? I want to see what I look like in wolf form,” Quil asked, suddenly infiltrating our brains. Wonderful! He picked the perfect time to phase, and I mean that with sarcasm.

Quil, look down at your paws. Where the hell do you think we can carry a mirror? Unfortunately, our fur doesn’t come with built-in pockets,” Paul informed him.

This is so cool, man. Hey, my tail wags!”

I’m in hell. Quil Ateara is so weird.

Hey, I heard that!” Quil yelled.

“Aren’t you the least bit freaked out that you’re a wolf?”

Nope, my grandpa told me it would happen soon, so I was expecting it.”

Great. Old Man Quil gives his own grandson a heads-up but lets it hit the rest of us like a ton of bricks.

What the hell is that stink? It’s like a sickly sweet, bleachy smell.”

Quil, that’s a bloodsucker. If she has red hair, she’s going after Bella Swan.”

 Why?”

“It’s a mate for a mate thing because she thinks that Edward Cullen is Bella’s mate. The Cullens killed her mate, and she thinks that killing Bella would make Cullen suffer for eternity.”

Man, Bella Swan is so awesome. Who else would have the hutzpah to date a vampire? Plus, she has really nice titties. They’re perky.”

She does, you know,” Paul agreed.

Get your mind off of my imprint’s tits!” I yelled.

Um, guys, the redhead is standing in front of me. What do I do?”

Fuck!” we both yelled and started racing.

Go on instinct, Quil. Just keep her distracted until we get there!”

Suddenly Quil was no longer in our brains.

Holy shit! I think the redhead got him, Paul!” Or not. When we finally reached the clearing, it was to find the redhead circling a naked Quil in human form.

“How are you doing? I’m Quil Ateara. And who might you be, hot stuff?” he wagged his eyebrows at her and flashed her a cocky smile.

The redhead appeared utterly flummoxed. She was staring with her mouth hanging open at Quil, who had his hands on his hips and a king-sized boner protruding straight from him in her direction. He was flopping it up and down as he winked at her. The redhead was wholly distracted by Quil and his dick.

Dude, is that leech arousal that I smell?” Paul asked, horrified.

Oh, man, I think it is. Ew!”

I took the opportunity to knock her down. She tried to get up, but Paul kicked her from the other side. The two of us pounced on her before she could get up and ripped her apart after that.

“Awesome!” Quil yelped as we phased back to human form. Paul and I threw our shorts back on.

“Um, do either of you have a lighter?” I asked.

“Damn it, I forgot mine!”

“Don’t look at me. I don’t even know where my clothes are.” Quil shrugged his shoulders.

“Alright, let’s carry her pieces with us to the res. We have to tell the rest of the pack anyway.”

The three of us gathered up the redhead’s body parts and rushed back to the reservation.

“Hey, do you think I had a chance with her?”

“Who?”

“The smelly cutie that we’re carrying.”

“Quil, she’s a bloodsucker.”

“So, she’s still got the goods.” He reached into her shirt and felt her tits. “Geez, even her tits are hard. They’re like stone or something.”

“Jesus! You’re feeling up a dismantled leech!” Paul shouted.

“So what? They’re still titties.” Quil shrugged his shoulders. “I just want to get laid. I don’t care who it’s with.”

“Quil, there’s such a thing as standards. You need to get some,” I advised.

“Yeah, this coming from the guy who didn’t remember that his first time was with Lauren Mallory,” Paul quipped.

“Oh, hey, now I heard she’s easy. Is she?”

“Even you have a chance with her, Quil.”

We got back to the reservation and knocked on Sam’s door. Emily answered it and started screaming when she saw the body parts in our arms. Sam shot straight to the door.

“Get the hell inside before someone sees you. Why’d you bring her here? And how come Quil is naked?”

“We didn’t have a lighter. Oh, and Quil phased for the first time. Couldn’t you guys hear him howling?”

“Uh… We were busy.” Sam cleared his throat and grinned at Emily, who we just noticed was only wearing one of Sam’s t-shirts. The entire house reeked of sex. “Alright, let’s take the pieces to the backyard and burn… What the hell are you doing, Quil?”

“I’m going through her pockets. She has like six hundred bucks on her. And some lipstick, mascara, extra panties, and here’s a lighter. It’s a Zippo, nice.” He took the cash and the panties, threw the vampire into Sam’s fireplace, and lit her on fire using her Zippo lighter. “Cool, purple smoke.”

We all just stood around staring at him with varying looks of incredulity before Paul suddenly rounded on him, “Hand over the cash, asshole! You don’t get to keep it all to yourself.”

“Finders, keepers!” Quil tried to hide the cash behind his back. But, unfortunately, he was naked, so he didn’t really have a place to hide it. Sam snatched it from him.

“There are six of us in the pack. We each get to keep a hundred bucks. That’s fair.”

“Doesn’t sound fair to me,” Paul said. “Jared and I were the ones who ripped her apart. We should get to split it.”

“Um, you wouldn’t have been able to rip her apart if I didn’t distract her with my goods.” Quil pointed to his dick. “I think that we should split the cash three ways.”

“Nah-uh, newbie. We’ve all been patrolling for eight hours a day, some of us for over a year. We split the cash evenly between all six of us,” Sam stated with finality in his alpha timber.

“Fine,” we all groaned. Emily threw Quil a pair of shorts, and Sam called the rest of the pack, plus the elders, over. They were all relieved to learn that we had finally destroyed the redheaded leech who had been after Bella Swan.

“Hey, someone should tell her,” Billy said. “Jared, I think that you should do the honors.”

My eyes widened. “Me?”

“Yes, you. Bella is your imprint.”

“I don’t know what to say to her.”

“Just tell her we got the redhead that’s been after her and add that you’re her imprint.”

“Um, okay.”

Jacob threw me the keys to his Rabbit. “Take my car.”

“Thanks.” Sure, now the Baby Alpha wants to help me out-now that he has his own imprint.

I arrived at Bella’s house and rang the doorbell. Chief Swan answered the door. Thank God, I threw a t-shirt and sneakers on before I left. “May I help you?”

“Yes, I’m a friend of Bella’s.”

“Bella! Some boy is here to see you!”

Bella came to the door. I noticed that Chief Swan didn’t leave. “Oh, hi. Paul, right?”

Paul? “ No, I’m Jared. Jared Cameron.”

“Oh, sorry. How can I help you?”

Well, shit, I can’t exactly say that we took apart the redheaded leech in front of Chief Swan. I had to think of an excuse quickly.

“Billy Black wants to know if you can come over and make some chicken soup for Jacob. He’s not feeling good,” I lied.

“Couldn’t he have called himself?” Chief Swan asked.

“No, his phone’s been disconnected for non-payment. So has his cell phone.” I’m going to hell.

“Poor guy. Alright, Bells. Why don’t you go ahead? I’ll stop by later to pick you up.”

“Daddy, I can drive myself, you know.”

“I don’t want you driving by yourself at this time of night. Go with Jeffrey.”

“Okay,” Bella sighed. She ran upstairs to grab her backpack. “I still have homework that I need to finish, Jeffrey.”

“My name is Jare…”

I was interrupted by Chief Swan calling out, “Drive safely, Jeffrey!”

I fished my cell phone out of my pocket and put in a call to Jacob, telling him of my lies. I spoke in a low tone so she couldn’t hear me.

Okay, got it. We’ll play our parts,” Jacob said before he hung up.

Halfway to La Push, Bella finally spoke. “I know you’re lying. Jacob told me he can’t get sick now that he’s a wolf.” Damn it, I’m so stupid. Of course, Baby Alpha would tell her that. “Besides, Billy just paid his phone bill. I’m the one who put the envelope in the mailbox for him.”

“Sorry, I needed a cover because your dad was there. I had to lie.”

“Okay, so why am I really going to La Push?”

“I’m supposed to tell you we finally destroyed the redheaded leech.”

“Is that all?”

“Yeah.”

“Oh.”

“And, um, Jake found a girlfriend. A girl named Kim from the reservation.”

“Phew! I was getting sick of having to turn him down all the time. That guy is persistent.”

“Really? I thought you liked Jake.”

“As a brother, not as a boyfriend.”

Well, that’s news. Jacob made it seem like she was head over heels in love with him.

“So, do you have a boyfriend?”

“Nope.”

“Do you want a boyfriend?”

“Maybe, I just haven’t met the right guy yet. My last boyfriend was a jerk.”

“You’re talking about Cullen?”

“Yeah, I never want to date anyone like him anymore.”

“I thought you were in love with him.”

“I was. I wasted so much time brooding over our break up, but then I had an epiphany.”

“What kind of epiphany?”

“I realized that he was controlling, manipulative, condescending and that I could never really be myself in front of him. I don’t want a boyfriend like that ever again.”

“I don’t blame you one bit.” I won’t be like that. I swear, Bella. I just need to tell you that you’re my mate for life, but I can’t seem to muster up the courage.

We arrived at the Black residence. Billy came out and greeted us.

“So, Jeffrey told me that you finally killed Victoria. Thank you.”

“Who is Jeffrey?”

“The guy you sent to my house.”

“I didn’t send anyone named Jeffrey to your house.”

“Well, then, who is this guy?” Bella asked, pointing at me.

“Oh, him. Is that all he told you?”

“No, he also told me that Jacob has a girlfriend. Where is she?”

“She’s at home,” Billy replied, giving me a stern look.

“Did he say anything else?”

“Nope.”

Billy scowled at me. I simply shrugged my shoulders at him.

Jacob suddenly came out of the bedroom pretending to hack up a lung.

“Oh, cut it out, Jake. You told me that wolves can’t get sick.”

“Oh, yeah. I did, didn’t I?” he nodded. “You’re still making chicken soup for us, right?”

“Yep, that’s what I’m here for.”

“Good,” Billy said. “Here’s a twenty; go to the tribal store and purchase the ingredients. Jared, go with her.”

I walked with Bella to the tribal store, trying to find a way to tell her that she was my imprint.

“So, how come you’re my babysitter all of a sudden?” she asked.

“I… I…”

“Hey, Bells!” Quil said. Just fucking incredible. The nutter of the pack has arrived. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, I’m making some chicken soup for Jacob.”

“Cool, I’m coming over if you’re cooking.”

I shot Quil a dirty look. He shrugged it off and tagged along with us. I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

Around ten pm, Charlie Swan came over to pick Bella up and drop off some money so Billy could pay his phone bills. Billy gave me the evil eye for my lie, but he accepted the cash from his friend, promising to pay him back.

“Nah, there’s no need. I know that things are tough with you on disability, Billy.”

“Thanks, Charlie,” he replied.

“How’s Jake doing anyway?”

“He has a pretty bad cough. Bella’s chicken soup helped, though.”

Right on cue, Jake started hacking from his room.”

“Poor kid,” Charlie noted. “Hey, should you have Quil and Jeffrey over here with Jacob being so sick?”

“They’re good. We’ve contained Jacob in his room.”

“Alright, well, I’m going to take Bells home now. It’s a school night, after all. See you later, Billy. Don’t stay out too late, Quil, Jeffrey.”

Bella waved goodbye to us.

“Who is Jeffrey again?” Billy asked.

“Um, that would be me. Chief Swan thinks my name is Jeffrey for some reason.”

“Why would you tell him that your name is Jeffrey?”

“I didn’t. I introduced myself as Jared Cameron.”

“Oh, Jesus. You really have to tell Bella about the imprint. This has been going on for a month now.”

“I know. I freeze up whenever I see her.”

Billy rolled his eyes at me, throwing Quil and me out of his house. We both went home after that.
